Few programs are as important in the construction industry as training. No one trains carpenters like the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. For over 100 years, the UBC has developed and improved training programs to develop well-rounded, skilled crafts workers who have built and continue to build America. We have a state-of-the-art training facility in Las Vegas, which allows members to visit and take a variety of classes, as well as our own Thomas C Ober Training Center in Hammonton, NJ.
Local 255 focuses on helping all Carpenters, whether they have been working in the industry for two, ten, twenty years or just getting started.
Our training programs have grown with our union by utilizing journeyman upgrade classes along with the traditional apprenticeship program. By taking advantage of training programs all throughout their careers, carpenters keep their skills sharp and valuable to employers. Upgrade classes are free to members and can be scheduled around work hours.
